Please join us for our first DKSC workshop of 2025 “Bridging Korean and Korean American Studies”!

Where does Korean American Studies fit alongside different disciplines? Is it a branch of Korean Studies’ initiatives to globalize and transnationalize the field? In this workshop, we invite three interdisciplinary scholars working within and between Korean Studies and Korean American Studies. The panelists—Dr. Ga Young Chung, Dr. Stephen Cho Suh, and Dr. Carolyn Areum Choi—will share their experiences and the challenges of navigating multiple academic fields, as well as how their work and careers have been shaped by interdisciplinary perspectives. The event will be moderated in English but is also open to Korean speakers.
